Oh My a month already?!

It appears as though I have not blogged in a month! OOPS!! My how the time has gotten away from me! We've had 5 birthdays, 1 birth & now another birthday around the corner, all since April 11th!

Tomorrow we will be going to Sammy's BFF's birthday party! A PIRATE party! I LOVE pirate parties! As a bonus, I was asked to do the cake(s). After an evening on the phone with Lisa (Matthew's mom) doing research, we reached an agreed-upon plan. CUPCAKES. in the form of a pirate. Also, in our research we found a cupcake treasure map.

Today I had the pleasure of baking all the cupcakes needed for the "cakes" and frost them. I have to admit I was a little worried about how they'd turn out. So, cheat sheet in hand, (from somebody else's pirate-cupcake adventure) I got to work with what I thought would be the harder of the 2 "cakes" and I arranged the first set.

And I frosted him.

Then I made the Treasure Map "cake" which I've started calling the Pirate Island instead, because once it was done, I think it looks more like an island than a map, but....
