Ice from the Sky

Last night we had an ice storm. The kids have no school today & everything outside is coated in ice. It's actually very beautiful. You may learn that I love my garden. I'm not very good at weeding, but I still love with my plants. I worked hard choosing the hodgepodge of plants that make up my garden. Typically in the winter, my plants are not on the top of my photographic list. But today, I couldn't resist.

Here is my Washington Hawthorne tree. It is a pain to prune because of it's inch-long thorns, but is a very interesting tree when covered in ice!  It's supposed to bloom as well, but mine never has. I'm hoping it does this year!

I also have my  pussy willow bush out by my driveway. this time of year it is working on budding for the fuzzy catkins that come out in the spring.

There is supposedly more ice coming in tonight, so it looks like my ice-rink of a driveway will be getting even worse. But I'm also thinking if more photographic options may be coming.
:)

This is an example of my bad upkeep on my garden. If I was on top of things, this pot would have been empty and put away in the shed, the dead plant out back in  compost pile and a pretty photo opportunity would have been lost. (yeah-that right-I did it on purpose just in case there was an ice storm LOL)
